Bob, Would Archibaldus Adaire at Edinburgh University May 1653 and Alexander Adair 23 May 1655 be those mentioned in two documents :
"Bond made by Robert McAlexander and Patrick McAlexander, Litter, King's County, to Archibald Adair, Litter, re marriage dowry of Elizabeth Adair wife of Robert McAlexander and assigned by them to Alexander Adair. 30 August 1680."
"Assignment by Robert McAlexander and Elizabeth his wife, formerly Elizabeth Adair, to Alexander Adair, Litter, Ireland re sums payable by John Adair and Sir Robert Adair as part of a marriage portion of Elizabeth Adair in consideration of sums advanced by Alexander Adair to Robert and Elizabeth McAlexander and of other services performed by Alexander Adair on their behalf. 30 Aug. 1680"
Believe Archibald may have been2nd son of Sir Robert Adair and Alexander Adair of Drumore, Scotland and Litter, Kings Co, Ireland to have been 3rd son.
The date shown for Jac Makittrick Adair of 1789 appears rather late to have been the same James Makittrick Adair, companion of Robert Burns, perhaps he may have been his son.
Patricius Adaair 9 April 1694 may have been Rev. Patrick Adair of Carrickfergus whose eldest son William was shown to have been born 1702.This Rev. Patrick was shown as a descendant of James Adair of Corgie, and ancestor of James Adair, Recorder of London.
