I have been trying to follow up the connection of Robert Adair with the wine firm of Adair, Butler and Aldridge. In this regard your notation about Yeates brought something to mind. My ancestors also had a nearby property named Sandymount which may or may not have come from the Adair side of the family. In the book "The Roads to Sandymount, Irishtown and Ringsend" by the Sandymount Community Services it has -
Sandymount Green. Sydney Smythe, Colonel in charge of Beggar's Bush Barracks. John Dickie of Sandymount Castle, later property of Robert Corbet, uncle of John Yates, who was father of William Butler Yeates, the poet. In 1862 Sandymount Green included the house "Auburn" named as a literary reference to Oliver Goldsmith.
My question is whether this Butler family may have been in partnership with the Adairs.
