It mentioned that James Adair had two partners c.1747 - John Campbell and William Newbury and that in 1751 - James Adair, recently ruined in the attempt to win the Choctaws to the English alliance graced the house of (Capt. James) Francis with his presence during 1750 and 1751. He went to the Cherokees in company with Henry Foster.Capt. James Francis seemed to be in charge of Indian Affairs as he conducted and investigation about that time and wrote to Gov. Glen describing the slow and inadequate process of frontier justice for Indians.
