I looked back at my notes on Shurman Adair. The list his name was on was a payroll list for a detachment on their march to headquarters under the the command of Cpt. Burnley and Lt. Samuel Gill on Apr. 14, 1778. Brigadier General Ch. G. Scott is mentioned and Col. T. or N. Craig. Some of the names mentioned in this detachment are: Smith, Roberts, Knight, Pennybacer, Sturrs, Travis, Hill, Abbitt, Turner Taylor, Brown, Johnston, Grove, Harris, Lemmon, Bell, Sturt, Henderson, Riley, among others. There is another list of those that signed as having received one month's pay on Apr. 15, 1778.Shurman Adair is not on this list, but Adam Shurman is???????? Another name of possible interest on this list is John Frasnour (Frazer?) Also remembered another short note I picked up somewhere: On my list of Joseph b. 1711 and his descendants, I wrote 'William Tecumseh Sherman connected through this line' and added the name Ellen Ewing.
