Re: "William and Mary (Moore) Adair arrived in CHESTER County, South Carolina and settled along Fishing Creek about the mid-point of the southward migration into the area – in 1754. Mary (born 1729) was the daughter of James and Eliza (Newfville (Neville ?)) Moore and after their marriage in 1749 (at .....) William and Mary decided the 100 acres of FREE land on Fishing Creek would be a good place to start their family."
William and Mary Adair had (amongst others) a daughter, MARY, born 1755 who m. David McCALLA. Thomas Peden, born 1785, ref: CathRevSol, married (1) Sarah McCalla, born 1782, (daughter of David McCalla and Mary Adair).
Children by Sarah McCalla: Mary Peden ref: CathRevSol, married (1) James HARBISON Jr., ref: CathRevSol, married (2) (?) Brown, ref: CathRevSol.
Would this Adair family have been related to the HARBISON family of Ballymena, Antrim, Ireland ? Would the HARBISON family have emigrated with the Adair family and perhaps the Moore and McCalla families ?
