"The bride [James GWIN] courted one day, married (Orange Co, NC) the next and started with to Tn, was Mary Adair McADAMS, a Scotch lassie, born in N.Carolina...Her mother was from Ireland (??? Adair ) and her father was from Scotland.
Mary Adair [McADAMS] Gwin had five brothers who also fought in the Revolutionary War..."
The Rev. James and Mary Adair McADAMS GWIN's son born Sumner Co, TN: 1. [Colonel] Samuel GWIN, b. @1792; d. 1835-1838; Col. Samuel GWIN married (1) Nancy ?; their children Mary T. GWIN, born 1823, married (1) George C. DAMERON, married (2) [Col.] DeWitt C. BONHAM and Andrew Jackson GWIN; married ? and had child Samuella GWIN;
Col. Samuel GWIN married (2) Edith Lilley Stirling Hampton, nee Lilley (Samuel was her third husband), and they had a child Elizabeth M. GWIN and a son that died at one year.
