I'm looking for information on Lewtishy/Littitha Adair. Her father, George Adair of DeKalb Co, GA, deeded land to her in Carroll Co, GA in 1871.(Carroll Co Deed Book M, pages 473-74.)There is a rumour that Lewtishy/Littitha is the same woman as Tabitha J. Estes, wife of Bailey Estes. They married in Henry Co, GA in the 1840s.
From old information I have from 1993: Lewtishy/Littitha is supposedly buried in the Adair Cemetery in Carrollton, GA.Land District 10, Land lot 44, G.M.D. 1527.The cemetery is located on the west side of Victory Rd., No visible sign of the cemetery which is in the yard of the S.J. Jackson home, except a few cement blocks lain flush with the ground where the few remaining graves were when the yard was established.Never were markers in the cemetery other than field stones. From the personal knowledge of Mrs. Jessie Hamrick, Carrollton, GA, the only known graves in the cemetery were: ESTES, LEWTISHY (ADAIR)(LETTITHA) and some of her children.(Mrs. Hamrick is now deceased and her family has no knowledge of the cemetery. Not sure about the Jackson family.)
