The Davis City Advance, Davis City, Iowa Thursday, August 22, l895
BARTINE REYNOLDS and wife of Wayne Co., Indiana, are visiting friends and relatives in Decatur Co. MRS. REYNOLDS is a daughter of GRANDMA WOOD, an old pioneer settler of this county, having lived here since l860. She was separated from her daughter September 1, l860 and did not see her until August l9, l895, that being GRANDMA's eightieth birthday; you may know that that was a glorious meeting. There were also three brothers and two more sisters and their families, and a host of friends present that partook of a bountiful dinner at the home of T.B. ADAIR. MR. and MRS. REYNOLDS are jolly and social folks, and though old in years are young in habits and full of life. Though they soon return to their eastern home, we hope that they will visit us again in the future, for they say, the Iowa peoples' latch-string hangs outside the cabin door.
W.W. WOOD, JACOB WEAVER, W.C. COZAD, C. MOON, V.E. GALPIN and S.W. HINDS and their families spent Wednesday and Thursday at the Reunion at Davis City. They are all old settlers.
