Alexander ALEXANDERb.1750 Belfast, Northern Ireland of Scottish Protestant parents. In 1772 he emigrated to America and settled in Crowsville, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. A pay record dated July 7, 1785 shows that he served as a Private in the Rev.War under Col. Anderson. Alexander ALEXANDER m. Anna McCroran (MacRoro), born in Argylshire, Scotland in 1752 who died in 1796, and he died in 1806, both at Crowsville, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

John Alexander(1777-1848) b. Crowsville, Spartanburg District, S.C., 4/16/1777; attended the public schools; moved to Butler County, Ohio, and thence to Miamisburg, Montgomery County, in 1803. There he studied law, and was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in 1804. He moved to Xenia, Greene County, Ohio, in 1805 and continued his profession there.After his time in Congress he resumed the practice of law at Xenia. He then was a member of the Ohio State senate in 1822 and 1823, and served in the State house of representatives for two terms. He retired from the practice of his profession in 1834. About 1800 he married Isabella ADAIR, b. about 1784 in Laurens County, S.C. John died at Xenia, Ohio, June 28, 1848, and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
