Adair, Emma Agnes, a pioneer lady of Center Twp, died at the family home February 25, aged 85 years, one month and 27 days. Emma Agnes Crist was born Dec. 29, 1847 in Kane County, Ill. and moved when a child to Noble County.
She married Thomas Ewing Adair Nov. 5, 1871. They came to Kansas in 1876, locating first near Emporia. They came to Moline in 1881, and in 1890 moved to a farm in Center Twp, where she had since resided.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. T. E. Adair; four sons and one daughter, Clyde at Lodi, Calif.; Joseph of Moline, Kan., Remulous and Romulous, twins who reside at home, and Mrs. Irene Sawyer of Sedan. A son, Ernest, died in infancy. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She joined the Moline M. E. Church when coming to that city and later transferred her membership to the church at Belknap.
She was the last surviving member of the family into which she was born.
It is a coincidence of note that her husband is the youngest and only surviving member of the family into which he was born.
