Elizabeth Adair (bc.1772, dau of James Adair & ...............?) m. 22 Nov 1792 Rockbridge Co. VA to Samuel Snodgrass, b. Lancaster Co. Pa 16 June 1754. About 1802/3 they wentfrom Rockbridge Co. VA to Clark Co. Ohio, to relatives living East of Springfield and in the neighborhood of New Harmony.
In 1819 Samuel Snodgrass purchased a farm in Ross Twp. Green Co. Ohio from Andrew W. Davidson and his wife, one and a quarter miles from Jamestown, Ohio on Jamestown & Cedarville Rd. The Greene County Robertson History says he went to Ross Twp in 1821. The deed for the farm says Jan 6 1819. In 1833 he sold this farm to his sons Joseph Snodgrass and John Snodgrass. He died 1844 Ross Twp in Greene co. Ohio, buried in Sliver Creek Cemetery, Greene Co. He was in several battles and was wounded, discharged in 1778. About 8-10 years after the war he moved to Va. through the forks of the James River to Rockbridge Co. Va. where he lived for the next 15-18 years, moving to Ohio c.1810/11.
He lived in Springfield, Clark Co Ohio, then Champaign Co. Ohio for about 2 years, last moving to Ross Twp. Greene Co. Ohio.
