page 264 "Archibald Adair was youngest son of Ninian Adair, Laird of Kinhilt, in Galloway.
His elder brother William, settled at Ballymena, in Co. Antrim, early in the seventeenth century; where he is now represented by his lineal descendant, Sir Robert Shafto Adair, Bart. -[Reeves]
The inscription on the Dean's wife is as follows: --- "Adari conjunx jacet hic tumulata Decani, Binaque bis vitae lustra peracta suae. Bis binos natos peperit binique supersunt, Occubuere [sic] masque puella duo. Infantes teneri tumulo tumulantur in illo, Cum genetrice sua manente sua. Preluxis virtute aliis pietate beata, Longe alias superans simpliciate genus.Vox animus vultus gestus tun caetera vitaw, Gesta canunt laudis non moritura suae. Obiit Jeneta Houstoun setatis suae 2o Januarii 24 anno 1615."
