Further to Capt. Will Adair, son of Maj. William Adair, b Chester SC on 23 Aug 1781.I just found a loose paper filed by my mother, Helen Marietta Wilson among papers on the Moore family (Capt Will was the twin sister of the wife of Francis Moore.)The paper is scribbled in the handwriting of Helen Wilson, perhaps during an interview --- it's somewhat difficult to reconstruct. It reads as follows:
"Adair Family "Capt Will Adair - prisoner in Civil War - m "Home in Sterling KS for College "William [G?J?] m Lottie Hart Will B m Martha Blanche m [Vernard ?] - Ness City KS2 boys Will B Adair and Martha - Halstead KS - Missionaries in Sudan. Martha m Glenn Blackwood - Springfield, IL Rev. James-- Chaplain - Madera [CO ?CA ?] Rev, John Ann, m
Elsewhere on the page is the following, placed to suggest that "Gwen" may be the daughter of Will B. Adair.
"Gwen m John Haspels - Ethiopia Derta m Eric Oppenich Zion Zoe Charles John m Joy Heather
2.John preacher ? [ this question mark is in the note] 3.James Chaplain - CA
While she was alive, Helen Wilson corresponded with Martha Blackwood, who was a Presbyterian missionary in Ethiopia
