I am getting up to speed on this and found some of your other correspondence and also that of Nell Lewis, who is the person who sent me the photocopy of the A. J. Adair bible that mentions Jane Adair Brooks.
However, I see one thing in some of the previous posts that may be incorrect (or I may have missed some subsequent posts). In your 2004 post on the ancestry.com board you wrote:
" However, recent discoveries indicate she may have been a daughter of James T. Adair b. 8 Jun 1790 and wife Ann Smith. James T. Adair died 22 March 1851 in Henry County, Georgia."
"Family Bible records in the possession of a descendant of Andrew Jackson Adair make note of Jane (Adair) Brooks, a sister."
The way I read the bible record, Jane Adair Brooks was the sister of James Adair, not of Andrew Jackson Adair. Here is a URL for a photo of the bible record in question: http://heathcock.org/genealogy/wp02/wp02_428.htmlhttp://heathcock.org/genealogy/wp02/wp02_428.html
