Perhaps some of these men had been living in America and returned to Ireland about the time of the Revolution, then sailed back to America after the Revolution ?

Campbell G. Dick (relative of above Campbell Dick ?) (son of Thomas Dick & step-son of Jane McCoy), m.2ndly Sarah Adair.
There was a Robert Dick bc.1590 who had a land grant of "Dunovarnan" Parish of Ballymoney, co. Antrim, N. Ireland. His son or grandson, Robert Dick (of Garry ?) co. Antrim, bc.1650 was succeeded by his son, John Dick, of Dublin, Ireland, bc.1680, who m. Anne, dau of William Adair (of Loughanmore ?)
