Fraser's Magazine. Vol. XXVII. Jan - June 1843 p.91 footnote. c.1810 James Adair in command of one of the Alceste's boats - his injured arm and bravery mentioned in other pages with M'Quean.
Would this James Adair have been a nephew of Dr. John Adair of London d.1794 ?
Not sure if James Adair may have been from around the Creetown area, Kirkcudbright - S.E. of Genoch and whether he had business interests in a distillery ?
His relatives from Balkiel / Balcail / Balcaile / Balkiel House may have emigrated to Australia and whose descendants had triplets in Queensland c.1920s named Faith, Hope and Joy / Joyce ?
