Contract betwixt Robert Adair of Kinhilt patron of the parish church of
Kirkmadin taking burden for John Quhgtfuird of Balloch backsman of the same
on the one part and Alexander McDowell of Logan on the other part agreeing
Alexander McDowell should have the teinds of his lands in the parish, all
as specified, valued to the sum of 400 merks and no more. In return for the
consent of the patron and tacksmen Alexander McDowell is to pay to the
said Robert Adair 403 merks yearly and Alexander McDowellis to value no
other lands in Kirkmadin save those specified
Wit:- Sir Patrick Agnew of Lochnaw sheriff,
Sir John McDowell of Garthland,

son of Rev. Lawrie. Was James McKittrick Adair from the Corgie (Adair /
McDowell) lineage ?

Clonyard under precept dated at Balkellie (Kirkmaiden ) 16th Jan. 1664,
infeft David McDowell of Kairne under reversion in the 5 merklands of
Corrochtie in parish of Kirkmadin
Wit:- Hugh McWalter in Kirkcum James McCarmick in Clonyard,
Gilbert Chalmeris (Chalmers) servitor to the said David McDowell and James
McKittrik son to James McKittrik notary.
