Can you give me any details or info on the Robert Lang/Long regarding his parents. My Robert Lang/Long was an Indian Trader who was in VA, NC,and then South Carolina. He is one of the traders you mention in your message. He and his son Robert Lang II were in Saxa-gotha township around 1736. Robert Lang II, died in Saludy, SC 1763.
In 1736 Abraham Colson, William Turbeville, GIDEON GIBSON, and the Mulkey family (all related by marriage) moved to Sandy Bluff, S.C.
Gideon Gibson was also a Chickasaw Indian trader. Before moving to Sandy Bluff he lived on land near Plumtree Island on land he bought from ROBERT LONG Lang/Longo who lived on Plumtree Island. Robert Long was a descendant of Anthony Longo of Accomack County, VA. and lived there the same time as Christopher Calvert.
