I am not a descendant of Edward Adair, but am a descendant of his brother John Adair and Gahoga through two lines.I helped compile the book "Cherokee Adairs", am acquainted with some of the descendants of Edward Adair and his wives. I have done some research on them and their descendants, because I love putting the pieces together from our past. At the time of working on the book, the only information we had about James was his listing as a student in a mission school. The Moravian diaries, among other resources, are quite helpful in getting information. Also newspaper articles and letters from the past, as well as the usual bible records and census.I remember reading in one of the Moravian diaries about the death of Edward's and Elizabeth's son James, and that Edward came to the Moravian services and cried.Elizabeth's visits are mentioned a number of times, as she came with her sister Margaret Vann and also had a son who was a student.Additional Moravian diaries are in the printing stages and will be available soon.I am looking forward to seeing those.I also now have a typed copy of Elizabeth's letter requesting James' pay for participating in the war, written following his death.
