King William may have been at Adair's old Castle of St. John in Stranraer prior to the Battle of the Boyne ?
SCOTLAND. From Wigtown Free Press 23rd January 1862. At Garleyhawes, parish of Kirkcolm, on the 19th inst., Mr Archibald Nibloe, formerly tenant of Garleyhawes, in the 84th year of his age. Mr Nibloe saw and conversed with his great-grandmother, who reached the advanced age of 110 years. She told him that she recollected seeing King William the Third's fleet standing down channel, after leaving Lochryan, previous to "the battle of the Boyne."*
