Tracing the name "ADAM"
Hello,
does anyone know exactly, how the name ADAM made it's way from hebrew origin throughout the cultures of the entire world?
I just found out, that it means "man made of read earth". Today "Adam" can be found in almost any culture, that got in contact with christians, jews or arabs. It's puzzling and amazing.
Some of my ancestors emmigrated from a village called Wincheringen (Germany)to the US. Very soon the contact was lost. My grandmother, who died in 1991, told me that these Adams probably went to a place starting with "silver-" (Silverstone???).
Wincheringen can be found near the river "Mosel" in Germany, very close to France and the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
Greetings from Germany,
Andreas ADAM
