Sorry, but I don't think I can be of much direct help to you. Here is some of the information on my ADAM ancestors.
My Matthew ADAM's family was in Loudoun County, VA at the end of the 1700s.We think he came from Scotland, but thus far we have no proof, despite lots of looking.
On 27 Sept 1804 Matthew ADAM married Susannah TRIPLETT (ca 1780-?).Matthew was a millwright & in 1796 built the water powered mill in Aldie, VA which has been partially restored. The beautiful home he built is just down the road from the mill. His home is called "Woodlawn".
Their son William Francis ADAM (1807-~18?) married Adelaide OSBURN (1818-1890) on 01 Dec 1834.They had ten children of which eight reached maturity.
Their eldest son, John Matthew (Jack) ADAM, was visiting relatives in TX when the Civil War started. He enlisted in TX in Company C, 4th Texas Hood's Brigade. His obituary disclosed that he fought in 32 battles & was at Appomattox for the final surrender of the Southern Army.He returned to TX after the war where he married Ellen JOHNSON on 29 Dec 1867.They had five children:Rose Mildred (my line), Frank Johnson, Ernest William, Whitney Montgomery & Eliza (Lydie).
My late cousin, Pattie Rose Trippet, wrote a book (self published in October 1983) on our ADAM family which is available in the LDS Library in Salt Lake as well as in several other major genealogy libraries. The book title is JOHN M. ADAM, A FAMILY HISTORY.
