The Elizabeth who married Joshua Stoneman was born 9/6/1828 to John Adams and Sarah Hutchens Adams.John Adams had 11 brothers and sisters, his sister Kesiah Adams was my GGGGrandmother.John Adams was born to George Adams and Agatha Jackson Adams.Attached is the Genealogy for this family.
Advise of any questions.
Have a good day cousin.

Corrections and details for the Genealogy of George Adams born in 1771 and his descendants.
This article was written as an attempt to clarify some issues regarding the accuracy of the Genealogy of George Adams, his wives and family as recorded in various other publications including the Yadkin County Heritage Books Volume I and II.Some of these errors were noted ten years ago, but remain uncorrected to date.
The prior articles on George Adams appear to be based on memory and oral history versus the available records for the time period. Some of the more obvious discrepancies within the prior articles include:
1. The death of George’s first wife Agatha Jackson Johnson is listed as happening in 1812 or 1813 when the actual date of death was in 1805.
2. The unreported second marriage for George Adamson February 25, 1806 to Elizabeth Martin Thornton.Elizabeth was the wife who died in 1813 not Agatha.
3. George Adams’ children born between 1806 to 1813 were by Elizabeth Martin Thornton Adams not by Agatha Johnson Adams.
4. Also we wish to include the six stepchildren by the Elizabeth Martin Thornton marriage to Abraham Thornton in the record.
5. Oral history has that George Adams sired thirteen children. We were only able to find records for twelve children.
We wish to recognize our Thornton Cousins who we have been in contact with since the Article by Kenneth Jacob Thornton in the Yadkin County Heritage Book Volume II.Debbie and Don Thornton of Seattle, Washington and George H. Windslow of Cedar Falls, Iowa and McAllen Texas. We found a long line of relatives unknown to us over the past month in the Thornton lines. From Tennessee, Iowa, Texas, Colorado, Eastern and Western Washington State etc.
Also we wish to ask for help in identifying the thirteenth child sired by George Adams.

Note:George’s oldest son John Adams is not listed in the will, two of his stepdaughters are listed, Anna and Elanor Thornton.Anna and Elanor seem to have used the Adams name, this may have something to do with the incorrect count for George’s children. We could find no birth record for Ann and Elanor Adams as Adams.being born to George
