I have recently aquired a cook book that was originally printed in 1879 titled "Housekeeping in Old Virginia". This books contains "Contributions from two hundred and fifty of Virginia's noted housewives, distinguished for their skills in the culinary art and other branches of domestic economy"
Among the contributors to this books is a "Mrs. R T H Adams - Lynchburg"
Again this book was originally printed in 1879 so Mrs. R T H Adams would have been married so at least in her 20's but as the above suggested she may have been considerably older. Currently I can not find any indication as to what R T H stands for.
Recipes include:Gooseberry Wine
I am willing to share copies of these recipes with descendants that are interested. Please contact me for additional information
