The Wilkes County Adams families are extremely confusing because they all seemed to have huge families and used the same first names over and over.
The information I have originates in Wilkes County with implications that they came there from Virginia. There was a move of some families (Adams and Hays) back to Virginia before the war.
About the only thing I know with certainty about the children of Charles Sr concerns his son, Henry Adams (who married Susannah Mitchell). They are 4x great grandparents of mine.Henry's sister, Elizabeth, may be another 4x great grandmother but that's a long story.
Of Charles Jr. I know only that Allen is attributed to him.The bondsman for Allen's marriage to Judy Adams was Reuben Hays Jr.He was the brother of my 3x great grandfather and took over the farm when Reuben Sr became to old to run it anymore.Reuben Sr's wife may or may not have been Elizabeth Adams.Reuben Sr was definately closely associated with Henry Adams, and not just because a son of Reuben's married a daughter of Henry's. (my 3x great grandparents)
I have no idea who Judy Adams' parents were. She could have been as close as 1st cousins with Allen or not related at all.
I haven't read Dorothy Griffith's book yet but I understand it has quite a bit on the Adams families from Wilkes County, you might look there.
I'd be very interested to see what you have on Allen and Judy's descendants. Also anything you might find out about Charles Jr.
