Merdith, yes, I had seen your posting just yesterday.I had become frustrated in trying to ferret out Reuben's father. I commend your progress, as sooner or later, you are Ann are going to solve this.I now wonder if we don't have his mother's maiden name wrong. What about the George in Robertson County?Perhaps over time someone of that family will surface that has the possible connection. I found my Hardige Walker, Jr.'s bible by finding the oldest son of the oldest son, and writing to the postmaster in Clarkesville, TN, to locate his family. At some point I would like to try again and try to trace further the John's and Benjamin in Caswell Co., NC.I plan to go to Sampson Co., NC to work on my Gilberts in a few months, so perhaps I can also go to Caswell, etc. Meredith, you are probably right that they were "living on the road," but I would think that they may have moved from Danville and Reuben was born before they got to a destination.I expect that they have to stop a while, if Elizabeth were getting close to delivery. Keep up the good work.Still kicking myself for not asking Uncle George more specifics. W. Ray Walkerwraywalker1@AOL.com 902 Mercer St., Alma, GA 31520.
