I have William Adams b. 1755 Albemarle Co. VA d. ? married Aug. 1, 1785 Charlotte Co. VA - Keturah Ford (Kitty) b. 1765 d. ?This is all the information I have on William and Keturah.William was the son of James Adams, Sr. b. 1730 Goochland Co. VA d. Mar. 15, 1789 Fluvanna Co. VA and Cecily Ford b. 1735 Goochland Co. VA d. Feb. 10, 1815 Fluvanna Co. VA.
I have read this story on William being involved in a murder case in Charlotte Co. VA along with John Ford and Culverin Ford.I believe this came up in a study of a Rowton link to the Adams family.Seems that this particular Rowton and Adams moved to KY.The story said that John Ford did the actual killing of Joseph Rowton with a knife.I think a lot of drinking and arguments proceeded the stabbing.I don't know if you could obtain the findings of the court and sentences on the Internet, maybe, someone living in Charlotte Co. VA might find out what happened to William Adams, Culverin Ford and John Ford.
I'm wondering if Keturah Ford had any link to Cecily Ford, wife of James Adams, Sr?Cecily's mother was named Keturah Wynne b. ? d. ? and her father was Thomas Ford b. 1700 d. ?Cecily is listed in a Vestry Book of a parish church in the French Huguenot Society in VA.Do you have any additional information of Keturah Ford, wife of William Adams?
I don't believe that this William Adams came to GA.A William Henry Adams, son of James Adams, Jr. did come to Elbert Co. GA from VA.His father, James Adams, Jr. along with a brother, Thomas Adams did come after William Henry Adams to Elbert Co. GA in 1797.
Look forward to further discussions and sharing of information with you.
