I have a convoluted mixture of Adams and Kemps in the city of Baltimore, Maryland - with one Scotland connection.Does anyone know if these Adams are related to each other?
In 1860, Baltimore city: James ADAMS (b.Scotland c.1822), Engineer: En_____ in Navy, with his wife Ann M. KEMP Adams and their son William K.(b.MD c.1855).They are at the home of Ann's parents, Richard S. & Grace KEMP (both b. Ireland).
In 1870 Baltimore, Ann KEMP Adams is at her parent's home, without James, with son William and a daughter, Grace L. (b.PA c.1867).
In 1860, Howard Co, MD, there is a William F. ADAMS (b.MD c.1805) with a Fanny ADAMS (b.MD c.1843).They live next door to Julia Elizabeth ADAMS Dorsey (b.MD c.1807), whose daughter married a brother of Richard C. KEMP (below).
In 1870 Baltimore city, Richard C. and Mary Jane ADAMS Kemp (b.MD c.1835) have Fanny ADAMS (b.MD c.1845, single)living with them.
In 1880 Baltimore city, Richard C. and Mary Jane ADAMS Kemp have Fannie (b.MD c.1841, single), "sister-in-law" of Richard, living with them.
Richard C. Kemp witnessed the will of Julia Elizabeth ADAMS Kemp, who died in 1860.
So I know that Fannie ADAMS was the sister of Mary Jane ADAMS Kemp - was William J. ADAMS their father? Was he the brother of Julia Elizabeth ADAMS Kemp?Is James ADAMS any kin to these other Adams?Did he die in the Civil War?
