I am looking for further information on John Adams b. about 1765 and d. 1838.He lived in Clay Township, Butler County, PA in 1824 (per census records.)I have a lot of information on the descendants of John Adams, but have been unable to locate his birth location and name of first wife.I believe that he had three children (James, Joseph b. 1806, and Margaret) from his first marriage. (My lineage is through Joseph.) Anyway, in 1824 he married Annabel Wasson Thompson and had additional children (Ebenezer b. 1831, Hugh b. 1835, David, Jemima b 1825, etc.)The Butler County historical records indicate that John Adams arrived from Cumberland County, PA.We understand that he was associated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church and that he immigrated to PA from Ireland, thus, I believe that he was of Scottish descent. We will be traveling to Scotland this summer in pursuit of aditional information on the Ulster Scots.Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone heard of a place in Scotland called "Adamsrow"?Where might it be?Thanks much.
