You may have the information that Henry Adams of Braintree came from Barton St. David, Somersetshire, England. Barton meant manor house. St. David was a Welsh Saint. George Napolean Adams wrote a book in abt 1895 of the Adams family and has abt 9 generations in the book. A copy, which is very old, is in the Houston, Texas, ClaytonGenealogical Library on Caroline Street. My mother was of the Adams lineage that went from Milton, Ma to Chester Co., Sc. Intermarried with the Nelson family. General Nelson gave $1,000,000 to pay France in the Rev war and later became Gov of Va. He was never repaid and died bankrupt and buried in an unmarked grave. A descendant came with the Adams, Bolding, Nelson, Morton families to Alabama, McMinn Co., Tn down the Mississippi river, up the Ouachita river and settled at Bolding, Union, Arkansas. A Nelson descendant bought 280 acres in the rolling hill piney woods there and brough 100 slaves from Virginia. He buried $100,000 in gold during the Civil War which the battle of Vicksburg cannons could be heard. It was never found. Some of these families came by wagon with many drawn by oxen from Alabama and they had to clear roads across the bottoms of Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas on the La, AR border near El Dorado, Arkansas an oil center. I have quite a bit of information on these families to share.
