My George is bn @1790 in Va.He marries Fanny Chambers (NC bond and will of John P. Chambers 1942 Robertson Com TN) in Person Co, NC 1814.His first daughter Emily was bn in Va 1815/6.(She marries Wylie Heflin in Robertson Co, TN.) The Adams, Sory, Paine, Hobdy, Womack Bible is in the Tn archives. It does not mention my George Adams (who is listed as the father of Wm G. Adams , first son bn 1819 TN(in the intestate papers of 1855) by the clerk in Robertson Co, TN. But it does mention Samuel Goodbrooks Adams bn 1787 or 1797 (unclear in bible) who marries a Hobdy and has a son John H. Adams.(These Adams end up in Alabama and on to Texas.)(It also seems clear that Samuel isn't the father of my Wm G. unless the clerk in the county office in 1855 was wrong.)
Reuben Adams is bn in Va and ends up in Adams,Robertson Co., Tn.His son's civil war pension papers say that his father was bn in Caswell Co NC "on the road to Danville, Va". Reuben's family believes that his father was a New England man who served in the Rev. War in Virginia as a Lt.No one has been able to prove that so far.He married a Robertson, moved to Robertson co and died in Adams, Robertson Co, TN.
The town of Milton, Caswell Co, NC is right on the border. The early references seem to indicate that over the Dan River is Va.(The early IGI records show that George Adams married Fanny Chambers in Caswell Co.BUT the bond is issued in Person Co.)
The allied families of the Chambers seem to be located in Halifax Va, Pittsylvania Va , Person and Caswell (old Caswell) NC.
I have no idea on the father of George Adams bn @1790.He signs his bond (X) but so does the George Adams who marries Sarah Boyd in 1808. (Person Co bonds). Stanfield and Carnal are the bondsmen.
