Eschol Vernon Adams Funeral services were held in the chaple of the Harris and Smith Funeral Home Monday at 3:00pm for Eschol Vernon Adams, 50, who died in the Telfair County Hospital Saturday after a long illness. Services were conducted by the Rev. Edward Lowery, of Eastman, and the Rev.J.C.Towns. Pallbearers were Julian Strom, Bill Spires, Wright Guin, D.L. Knowles, Preston Smith, Owen Scarborough and Wayne Spires. Mr. Adams was born in Wheeler County on September 14, 1915, the son of Edgar and Lutisha Selph Adams. He was married to Miss Dorothy Livingston on October 2, 1940, in Alamo and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; eight sons, Carol Adams station in the U.S. Navy, Puerto Rico;Kenneth, Vernon,Tony, Ricky, Jed, Clark and Eddie Adams; Four daughters Patsy, Linda, Cathy, and Janice and his parents all of McRae; two brothers, W.M. Adams, of Centerville, and Ernest Adams of McRae, and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lee Alfirov of Macon; Mrs. Evelyn Webb, of Atlanta; Mrs. Anna Clark of Alamo; and Mrs. Myrtie Stevens of McRae. Burial was in Memorial Gardens of McRae.
