Edgar Bernard Adams Funeral services for Edgar Bernard Adams, 72, of McRae, who died in the Telfair County Hospital Saturday, April 29,1967, after a long illness, were held in the Chaple of Harris and Smith Funeral Home on Monday at 3:00pm. The Rev. Herman Mathews, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiated and burial was in the Telfair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Adams was born in WashingtonCounty, the son of the late W.M. and Anna CraftonAdams. He was married to Lutishia Selph on September 4,1914, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Pallbearers include Walter White, Doyle Coleman, Bill Cross, Hardy Jackson, Paul Pierce and Claude Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers were Bethel Harbin, Robert McDonald, J.A Palmerand Ed Varnedoe.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lutisha Selph Adams of McRae; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Lee Alfirov of Macon, Mrs. Evelyn Webb of Atlanta, Mrs. Anna Clark of Alamo, and Mrs. Myrtice Giles of McRae, two sons, Billy M. Adams of Warner Robins, and Ernest Adams of McRae; seven sisters, Mrs. C.M. Nobles of Soperton, Mrs. O.L. Nix of Ocala Fla., Mrs. H.E. Caldwell of McRae, Mrs. H.G.Martin of Reidsville, Mrs. R.E. Pope and Mrs. M.L.Bass of Atlanta, and Mrs. J.L. Webb Of Helena. And three brothers.
