I need to find out if some of the Adams who married Turneys in Smith Co Tennessee are from these men:
Smith Co Tennessee Court Minutes No. 6 1815-1819pg 62 Henry Turney to Jacob Adams, deed 84 acres, proven by the oaths of Abraham Adams and Solemn Leek, wittnesses there to and ordered to be registered.12 Feb 1816
1820 census of Smith Co Tn shows both Jacob and Abraham Adams.
1830 census of Smith Co Tn shows Jacob Adams living 2 houses from Lemuel Turney (grandson of Henry Turney).
Henry Turney lived on Clear Fork, his land would later fall in Dekalb Co TN, with his sons land in Cannon Co TN.I figure where this Jacob Adams lived would be Cannon County.
Would like to talk to anyone from this line of Adams.I think this line is probably the one who in 1809 came from Patrick Co VA with Adamson, Keaton, Fuston, Overall, etc.
But....Henry Turney had lived in Hawkins Co Tn up to about 1804, 1805 when he moved to Smith Co.In 1806 Hawkins Co Tn there is a Jacob Adams with property. So this is yet another group of Adams living near the Turneys, so perhaps the Adams who married into Turneys came from this area.
