Linda, I just posted a message to Trisha, and thought to back track through the messages to see if I could find the origin of her message, thus I found yours.
I descend from Mastin H. Adams who is listed in the Gwinnett County 1850 census, through his son George W. Adams, who was my g/g/grandfather.I have only this week been able to document this connection, and now must work on the origins of Mastin and Elizabeth. Is it possible that you would have any history at all on these ancestors?
I would deeply appreciate any you can forward, and if I am reading your message correctly I surmise you also descend from this Mastin H. Adams, if so, I will happily forward any information I might have in the future.
Regards.Jane Kay. Ps....although I live in NY, I was born and raised in Atlanta, and in the mid 1970 a woman who had done a family history contacted me for my information.....I got the impression she was related to me through the Adams line, but at the time I had not been formally bitten by the genie bug (although there has always been a latent interest). She was hoping to have her work published, but needed to commit to 100 copies in order to have it printed, and said she would get back to me.One of the things she told me was that we descended from Hartwell Jackson, but I didn't clearifywhich lines.I saw in the Gwinnett Census Elizabeth was born in Georgia, am wondering if that may be the lineage it connects to, if at all, these things are a can of worms at best.Just thought I'd mention this before I forgot.
