Mike: You mention having copy of a book titled "The Adams Family of North Staffordshire" written by Percy Adams - Published 1915.
I descend from the following John Adams: From the book Records of Indentured Servants and of Certificates for Land Northumberland County, Virginia by W. Preston Haynie:
#1720. 14 April 1740---On the Petition of John Adams, servant of Matthew Zuill gent., seting forth that he was free, the court haveing considered the same order that the sd John Adams return to his master’s service & serve him till ye Nineteeth day of April next & pay Costs.OB 1737-43, 130.
Mike: He would have been born "about" 1715.He named his first son Lot and first daughter Chloe, maybe after his father and mother back in England?Mathew Zuill was a merchant in Liverpool before coming to America
Please see if you can find a John Adams in your book that fits these clues.
