EDITH LOREE JENNINGS, youngest daughter of WM. H. and FANNY G. JENNINGS was born at Weldon, Iowa, January 28, l889, and died at the parental home in Garden Grove, Iowa, April 23, l904, aged l5 years, 2 months, and 25 days.While in her second year, her parents moved to Davis City where they remained about four years, moving from there to here, where the remainder of her life has been spent.Entering school in the primary grade under the teaching of MRS. VERTS and passing from grade to grade, she was just completing the work of the tenth grade.All of her school days were spent in the Garden Grove Schools; three other scholars of the tenth grade have been associated with in each grade of her school work.
In addition to her school work she made good progress in her music, which she loved very dearly and in which she would doubtless have become quite proficient had her life been spared.She loved to sing the songs of the Sunday School and Church.
EDITH was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church on probation in the month of February l8(??), during revival meetings conducted by brother Horn.July 3rd she was received into full membership.She has always been consistent in her life and faithful in her attendance upon all the services of the Sunday School, church, Junior and Epworth League; she will be greatlymissed in all these services.
This is the first death in her family, the parents, the brother EDWARD, who because of the great distance which separates him from his home has not yet received the intelligence of her sickness or death, the three sisters MRS. LOTTIE WELLS, MRS. ARSULA ADAMS and MISS EVA are left with the loving memory of an affectionate daughter and sister.Thank God they are not left to mourn as those who have no hope.
The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church, Sunday afternoon, in the presence of a very large concourse of relatives and friends.They were conducted in an impressive manner by the Pastor Rev. Newland.
