I'll write here a brief sketch of the family of Elijah Adams and Hannah Blair (daughter of William and Hester Blair) and their children.Note that there is no proof of these relationships.Elijah seems to have died in
Montgomery County (in a part which later became Bath County), Kentucky, after 1800, when he appears in the tax list for that year, but well before 1810.As few records for that period from Montgomery County have survived, it is unlikely that proof will ever be found. The sketch below is a result of looking at their residences, naming patterns, associations among grandchildren, etc.
Elijah Adams was definitely part of the Bedford County, PA, Adams and may well have been the Elijah who was son of ELijah Adams, who died there in 1798 leaving a will.As the elder Elijah appointed a son-in-law executor, it is likely that his son Elijah had left the neighborhood.Elijah Adams first appears in the Montgomery Co., KY, tax list in 1797, and it is likely he had come from Pennsylvania not too long before. My feeling is that he lived somewhere in western Pennsylvania in the 1780s and 1790s, but I haven't learned where. The only other significant bit of information on Elijah is that he was appointed lieutenant of the 34th regiment of militia, made up of Montgomery County men, on 2 Dec. 1799.
