Roy, I do not recognize the names that you gave me.I live on the Adams family ranch at Salado, Texas now.Salado is not a large town, as I'm sure you are aware.I have a number of dear friends who I have known all of my life named Capps. One in particular, Clyde Capps, was born in Salado and has lived within a two and one-half mile radius of the place where he was born all of his life. His mind is very alert and his memory is excellent. He is eighty-something years old, so he goes way back, and his father before him, lived in that same place. If you are ever in the area, I'll be happy to set up a meeting with Clyde Capps for you.You might be able to gather good information from this man.He does not go back quite that far, but he knew everyone from Salado and most likely would have known about the businesses and doctors, etc in the area.
I have notes passed down to me by an aunt who passed away last year that have a number of names of relatives that should be researched. One of those names is Carrol Adams. Another is Harmon Adams.I am not sure yet where these two people fit into the family. When my grandfather left Milam County, as a young lad, he travelled as far as Killeen where he went to work for someone he was related to, a Joel Sheppard, best I can remember.I do not know the relationship he had with this Joel Sheppard.
We do not know the siblings of Miles Adams, born in Virginia, but we do know that he had a son, Miles Washington Adams, who lived in Salado for a time. When I was growing up in Salado, there was another family living in Salado named Adams. The other man's name was George E. Adams. To date, I have been unable to establish if we have kin in common, but I tend to believe there is some sort of tie between the Adams families that have lived in Salado. Gale
