Hi Roy, When my grandfather left Milam County, he went to Killeen and found work, working in a grocery store owned by a Joel Sheppard who was supposed to be related (I do not know the relationship)I do however know that he had relatives living in Killeen at the time.He always said he went to work for a cousin.I also know there is a Carroll Adams and a Harmon Adams who are supposed to be cousins to my grandfather who I have not been able to find anything on.
There is another family named Adams from Salado, a George E. Adams.I have been unable to connect their family with mine, but feel they were related somehow. It would not surprise me to find that your Dr. D.G. Adams has some connection as well.Salado is a small town.Miles Washington Adams, who was a brother to my gggrandfather, Cary Gilbert Adams, lived in Salado for a time before he movedto Hood County, Texas.
My family owns a ranch here in Salado, where I now live. The property has been in our family since the 1940s.I’ve known the Capps families all of my life. There is a man in Salado named Clyde Capps who was born in Salado and has lived within two and a half miles of the place of his birth for his entire life. His mind is still very good and his memory is sharp. It is just possible that he would know your Dr. Adams.I will speak with him tomorrow and see if he remembers him.I will let you know if I find any information on David Gregg Adams or Iola Letitia Capps Adams. They may be a bit before his time, but he will know something of them if they are part of his family. Gale
