Peggy, I am almost positive that we are on the same Adams family, here.I show the 1870 census in Smith Co, Ms, my Adams ggggrandmother Margaret Adams is a widow and her youngest child, Susan Adams (where do you get "Eff" from?Maybe the middle initial is "F"?).Susan was born in Smith Co, Ms in 1859/60.Susan Adams DID have an older sister named Rosa Anne, or Rosanne, or Rosanna, we have it all those ways, but we have never discovered what happened to her. As I mentioned before, I have found a Sunflower Co, Ms marriage of a Susan Adams to a Jack Brown in 1876.This makes all kind of sense to me, if big sister Rosanna married and moved up to SF County from Smith Co, b/c their brother William Adams (6 yrs older than Susan) also appears up there getting married to Julia Forbis in 1874.Many of the other Adams marriages in SF County belong to this bunch of Adamses. Please see my posting #18119 on this Adams forum. I have a LOT of information about this family back to before 1733.They were in North Carolina, then South Carolina, then in covered wagons to Mississippi in 1848. James Adams, Susan's father, was born abt 1809 in Marion District, SC.Margaret Campbell Adams, her mother, b. about the same time, also Marion. I am descended from James and Margaret in a direct line of Adams males until my father.(my father) Joseph, Abner James, Abner James Sr, Francis Marion, James, Abner, Ezekiel, Willoughby, Abraham (whose will is dated 1733). I am descended from your Susan's big brother Francis Marion Adams, killed at Petersburg in Civil War in August, 1864, Sixteenth Mississippi Infantry. I have only recently turned to the brothers and sisters of F.M. Adams, have been trying to get further back from 1733! So I am very interested in your info about Rosanna and about Susan and her descendants. Please tell me what you know of Rosanna, as well, like where she died and is buried, are there any children from her marriage?I can tell you that your picture would be most appreciated and treasured, please email@example.com I do not know of any Indian blood in the family.
