Interesting that you should say the Adams' were gypsies because that is what my father told me for many years as I was growing up.
It wasn't until after his death, I heard my aunt (his sister) had done some research into the Adams lineage and went back to the 1500's and did discovery they were gypsies indeed.
I don't know if we are related in any way but I would love to hear from you with regard to any information you may have.I believe my Adams' came from around Lancashire but I can't be totally sure of that as both my parents are deceased.I do know my paternal grandfather was born somewhere (a lot of help eh?) and moved to around the London area too.
He then moved to Canada. He was married to an Elizabeth Riddle (not sure of the spelling) and they had 9 children (some might have been born in England - once again, unsure). My father lost his mother to a cerebal hemmorage when he was just 9 years old.
