Records confirm that John Jr with wife Elizabeth was probably born about 1687 (exempted from paying taxes in 1748). As he first purchased property in his own right in 1705, this date would appear logical. Although he was young, Virginia's laws did not require a man to be what we would consider "of age" to participate in property transactions. I have seen nothing to indicate that his wife was Elizabeth Johns. In fact, the transcribed copy I have seen of the will of Richard Johns specifically states that her husband was James Adams. John Adams sold his property at Accokeek to Augustin Washington around 1725 (probably to accommodate Washington's iron furnace at that location) and removed to property on the Cedar Run watershed between Broad Run and Bull Run. He and his sons can all be found in that location on the Brent Town Survey of 1737, living adjacent to their old friends the Norman family. I have additional information on descendants in this line. Would be happy to share and exchange.
