I had thought that Thomas Burl's mother was Phoebe Baily also, then I came across something about Samuel Woosley being married to someone else, her name was Elizabeth "Betsy" Francis from what I could see. I have to do some digging and find my papers, there were marriage dates and stuff that made it likely that she was Thomas B's mother. Your right about the marraige between Phoebe Baily and Samuel, it did happen later.
The start of the Woosley's in my ancestry is with my G-G-Grandpa John Hunter DeWeese, b.12 Aug 1861, d. ABT 1937, being married to Mary Elizabeth Woosley b, 15 MAR 1863, d. 16 JAN 1896, m. on 10 Sep 1890. Her parents are John Woosley (I believe his first name is Thomas aslo, he went by John or Jack) b. 5 JUL 1833, d. 23 NOV 1879 and Rosamond Jones, b. 5 AUG 1832, d. 31 OCT 1892. I have John's father as Thomas Burl Woosley, b. 3 OCT 1790, d. 7 AUG 1852, John's mother was Phoebe "Polly" Adams, b. 8 APR 1799, d. 5 AUG 1841, they were married on 5 MAR 1817. She is the one where it turns into a dead end. The 1810 census I looked at had the John Adams you were talking about, but the daughter was named Mary I beleive. For Thomas B's parentage I have Samuel Woosley, b. 13 JUL 1775, d. 25 NOV 1844, m. about 1790 to the lady I mentioned Elizabeth "Betsy" Francis I presume. I have no more info on her than I do on Phoebe Adams. I know that Samuel would only have been 15 when Thomas B. was born, but was that really all that uncommen? I have no idea at the moment how old Betsy would have been, I need to look through my stuff.
If you have any info to add to this, or if you think something is very wrong with it all, let me know please. Thank you!
