Ezekial (also spelt Ezekiel less often) married Nancy Bankston in GA. Ezekial himself came from Robeson Co. NC, where he is listed on the census for 1820, of the right age for someone born in 1796. His tombstone in Raymond, Hinds Co. MS is spelt 'Ezekial'. We have a hunch he is kin to the Willoughby/Ezekial/Amos/Abraham Adams of that area, and the Pamlico Sound/Tidewater area. Trying to find direct connections now.
We do know that Ezekial Adams married Nancy Bankston in Georgia after 1820, and by the time their oldest daughter Mary was born in 1823. 1830 census they are missing, but the 1850 census lists their son Augustus/Augustin as having been born in Arkansas. So, the migration seems to be from Robeson Co. NC, to marriage in GA, AR for the first few children (probably a few years only), and on to Hinds Co. MS by 1833 when Calvin was born there.
Ezekial passed away in Raymond MS, one decade before the start of the War. Following the War, the majority of his children and his widow moved to Burleson Co. TX (Somerville area.) Nancy and most of the children are buried there. I believe that one son, Albert, might have stayed in Hinds Co. MS.
