Dear ADAMS GenForum: Just found the pension file for Titus Adams who was born 23 Jan 1753 in Simsbury, Hartford Co, CT.He was the son of Pelatiah Adams (1719-1754) and Sarah Phelps (1721- ?).Titus was married to Theodosia Thrall (1755 - aft 1810), daughter of Samuel Thrall/Lucy Winchell, by 1775 when their oldest son was born in Simsbury. Prior to finding this 1833 pension declaration, I could only track Titus Adams/Theodosia Thrall in Granville, Hampshire Co, MA in 1790; Rutland Co, VT in 1800 and Ulster Co, NY by 1810.Titus Adams pension file indicates that he moved to Newburgh, Orange Co, NY -- probably after 1810, but was back in Simsbury in Sept 1833 when he made his Revolutionary War pension declaration.I can not find Titus Adams on either the 1820 or 1830 census -- either in NY or CT.
Would appreciate any help on documentation for this couple in NY or CT and will be happy to share information I have been able to develp.I am their descendant through son, Timothy Walcot Adams.Known children are Titus Adams Jr.(b. 12 Jan 1775, Simsbury); Benjamin Adams (b. 29 Dec 1776, Simsbury); Timothy Adams (b. 6 June 1779, Simsbury); and Oliver Adams (b. 11 Oct 1781, Simsbury). There may also be a son named James and possibly a daughter named Amanda.
