I am trying to find the parents of my GGGrandmother Lucinda Caroline ADAMS. She married my GGGrandfather Timothy Turner LASSITER, 20 Aug 1850 in Robertson Co TN.In the 1850 census, Lucinda Caroline ADAMS (18) was living in Robertson Co, TN with her husband Timothy Turner LASSITER (21) in the household of her brother William (I have seen his middle initials as both S. and W.)ADAMS (28), William's wife Elizabeth, and their Daughter, Lou J. (1). Timothy Turner LASSITER is believed to have died in the civil war. Lucinda Caroline ADAMS LASSITER thenmarried James H. GALBREATH 18 Feb 1866. James apparently died by 1880 as the following is found in the 1880 census for Tipton Co, TN: Lucinda GALBREATH (sic), age 46, widow. With her, were her step-daughter Mattie (Matilda?) age 17, her son Judson LASSITER (my GGranfather and a blacksmith) and her daughter-in-law Maggie LASSITER(My GGrandmother nee Margaret Delilah TURBERVILLE in Henry Co TN), age 18. and two boarders: Louisa FOSTER, age 53, and May WINSTON, age 5. I believe Lucinda Caroline ADAMS was born in Robertson Co TN between 1832-1834, and that her father was either:
Lewis ADAMS, who married Lucinda Thacker 4 Jul 1818 in Allen Co, KY (Lucinda ADAMS said in the1880 census that her mother was born in KY and her father in VA.),or
Nathan ADAMS, George ADAMS,or Sterling ADAMS. There is more than one of each of these names in KY and TN during the period, and it is possible that if one were here father, he may have died before 1840 and that Lucinda would have been living with her mother. William would have been 18 at the time.
I will be extremely grateful for any help or ideas.
