I was confused but I'm right again I think.
No go with that Alonzo as he is Alonzo H. and David died in 1880.
Don't forget that I haven't proven any of the details that I have given you.
They have been done by informants and some of them aren't family and could give incorrect info.
At least you have a couple of facts to go on.
David is Alonzo's father and David died sometime before April 1851.
Do you have any of the following surnames used as first or second names in any of your lines?
Webber, Blanchard, Hickernell, McCaslin, Wilson, as these are names listed for David deaths in 1850.
There is only one listed for 1851 which is in May.
Any other unusal names?
What area was it posted from?
Do you know Alonzo's death date/year? I don't think you do have it, do you?
Is Alonzo married?
Does he have any children?
Does he mention anyone at all in the letter that I may be able to link him with?
Do you have a previous letter where he mentions his father is ill?
This will cut down the time for when he died.
Did he send Christmas greetings and mentions his father was still alive but ill?
Chloe Hatch was born in Fairfield, Connecticut by the way.
Chew this over an get back to me.
It has been raining hard all day here and was 13 degrees this afternoon at 4pm.
It was 33 yesterday until about 1pm and 30 the day before.
