John, question. The 1850 census of Robertson Co., Dist 7, TN shows # 1296, George Adams 60 b VA with wife Elizabeth 46 b TN, and children Rebecca 245; Nancy 21; George W. 16; Sarah 12; Henry 5; John 6; and Thos Husky 20 laborer & Geo Conley 78.
(The deed records particularly one in Persons Co., states that Simon's property, etc., was on the VA/NC line, so I can understand his stating that he was born in VA. The home was on the NC to Danville,VA road from what I can infer.)
Was this a 2nd wife of George?
Also who was the William Adams 37 next door in household # 1297. Wife Hemeeda (indexed on film) 30; Cynthia f. `12; Thomas 9; John W. 7; James 4; 7 Underah (looks like and indexed thusly) Adams 1/12th;also Cyntha Payne 55 (aPayne family was connected to Simon and the Chilton's in Person Co., NC transactions as I recall.
Do you know who William was; was he a son by Fanny Chambers?
