I have Mary Ann as Cynthia's sister, both children of Miles and Ann MAYO ADAMS.I don't have much on Miles and have been trying for years to find proof that Ann MAYO is the daughter of Jonas W. MAY, Sr.
I know there is a connection because of papers on the probate of Benjamin MAY's estate. Benjamin was one of Jonas W.'s sons.Ben'j and his wife had no children so he left everything to the children of his brothers and sisters. Many of the Adams children are mentioned. In fact, the only specific bequests in his will were to his brother, Kinchen, and "Smithy WYNN".In the court papers, the executor stated that the bequests to Kinchen May and Cynthia WYNN, wife of William, had been fulfilled.
Other mentions in the papers are; Mary, wife or David "Jarrell" [I have to think this should have been Fitzgerald]; James Adams; Anderson Miller [Anna's husband]; Francis Groom [Catherine Elizabeth's husband]; and William Adams. Some of the girl's first names weren't mentioned. They were referred to as "wife of".
Strengthening my suspicion that Ann MAYO was connected to the MAY family is the 1860 census for William and Cynthia in which Anna MAY, age 81, is living with them.Anna MAY would have been Ben'j's widow.

The one thing that gives me pause is that Benjamin MAY's wife, Anna, was an ADAMS. I've explored the idea that Anna ADAMS MAY and Miles ADAMS were related and haven't any connection.
I do feel that your ?xg grandmother, Mary Ann, is connected to my line through her mother, Ann MAYO ADAMS.
Feel free to contact me directly.I have more on the MAY line. Harriett
